How do I repair my credit and improve my FICO scores???

How to I repair my credit  and improving my FICO scores???

Repairing credit is like watching paint dry:  It takes time and there is no fast way to fix a credit score.  Actually, quick fixes will most likely backfire so beware of any advise to
promises to repair your credit quickly.
3 Important Things To Do Today:
1.  Check Your Credit Report:
Request a free copy of your credit report, review it for errors.  If you find errors on any of your 3 reports, dispute them with the individual credit bureau.  You are entitled to order (every 12 months) a free copy of your credit report from each of the major credit reporting agencies (Equifax,Experian, and TransUnion) through AnnualCreditReport.com
2.  Setup Payment Reminders:
Mark your calendar when a payment is due a week ahead of time.  Enroll in automatic payments with your credit/debit card, at least the minimum due. Try to make more than the minimum payment as paying the minimum is not helping to manage your debt.
3.  Reduce the Amount of Debt You Owe:
Stop using your credit cards.  Use your credit report, make a list of your accounts- verify exactly what you owe & the interest rate for each account.  Pay off the highest interest rate cards first, while still paying the minimum of the other cards.  Once your get the first card paid off, focus on the second highest interest rate.
Don’t “max out” your credit cards.  It is better to have a high credit limit and a low balance
Don’t get frustrated. Stay focused.  Learn to say NO to temptation of spontaneous purchases.   Trust me you will feel great when you start seeing the progress of paying off your debt.
4.  Minimize your Credit Inquiries:
If your shopping for a mortgage, credit card, auto, do so in the shortest time period possible to minimize inquiries against you.
